Yesterday's Republican Presidential debate brought out absolute truth. U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback's remarks--Faith and Reason and Pro-Life and Whole Life is the absolute truth! Faith and Reason is the core of Catholic moral values. Moral values are the highest natural values. Faith Alone--"Sola Fides" is the absolute reason why many Biblical principles comong through Fundamentalist Protestantism is falsehood. I am not knocking Protestants, but Protestant Biblical doctrines. Irreverance which is rooted in pride and concupiscence approaches everything with a presumptious, sham superiority with no interiority, or intrinsic value. Remember! Moral unconciousness is a form of irresponsibility. Sola Fides is not rooted in charity!
In '1Cor. 13:2' St. Paul exhorts, I can have faith to move mountains and have not love I am nothing. Charity must permeate love for the beloved. Faith with fidelity, not faith alone is essential for spirtual growth. Morality means the rightness or wrongness of human acts. Pro-Life and Whole -Life means the absolute God like attitudes towards a human being from the moment of conception to the moment of death. Utilitarianism is a fruit of Protestantism. Ethics which can be called moral philosophy must be based on Biblical truth. False doctrines such as Unconditional Election and Total Depravity is where unhuman deeds based on selfishness initiate from. Remember some people distort scripture to their own destruction.--'2 Pet. 3:15-16'!
Implement the Golden Rule in your life!--'Matt. 7:12'--Luke 6:31'. Leadership development begins with an attitude adjustment towards the truth of God. Mercy, compassion, purity, integrity, peacemaking, and charity of heart must challenge the human perpspective. A president must do the right thing for the right reason that edifies God and his creation. I believe Sam Brownback is the right person. God Bless You.

Concerns about Sen. Brownback
I have several concerns about Sen. Brownback, unfortunately. He has been a strong supporter of the Iraq war, and does not say that we would do differently knowing what he knows today. That means he rejects the principles of just war--that war is only justified as self-defense in the case of an imminent threat. Instead, I think it is imperative for the next President to renounce the doctrine of preventative war--war based on suspicion or the mere possibility of a future threat--as candidate Ron Paul has forcefully argued. This policy of the Bush administration is a severe threat to peace, setting the stage for all countries to follow our example and start more wars of aggression. Not only am I concerned about Sen. Brownback approach to Iraq in particular, but what is his approach to foreign policy as a whole?
I am also concerned that Sen. Brownback does not affirm the proper role of the government to promote the common good, especially with regard to caring for the poor. He has called for lower taxes, without explaining what spending he would cut--healthcare and other things that benefit the poor would likely be the first things cut.
I have other concerns but there are also other things to give him credit for...
