State Senate Public Forum on creating a true New York State Housing Trust Fund

A true housing trust fund features a dedicated revenue stream for creating and preserving affordable housing. Over the last two years, Habitat-NYC has joined with housing advocates across New York State to fight for a statewide trust fund. We are closer than ever to that goal, and with a strong push, we can help get affordable homes built and preserved for hardworking New Yorkers everywhere.

Excerpt from Faithful Citizenship: A Catholic Call to Political Responsibility

We support a recommitment to the national pledge of "safe and affordable housing" for all and effective policies that will increase the supply of quality housing and preserve, maintain, and improve existing housing. We promote public/private partnerships, especially those that involve religious communities. We continue to oppose unjust discrimination or unjust exclusion in housing and support measures to help ensure that financial institutions meet the credit needs of local communities."
