One of the most important issues of the upcoming presidential election is the Iraq War. The American people want peace. The gospel of peace is a Biblical name for the message proclaimed by Christ. God's greater peace has a great deal in common with mankind's yearning for peace. 'Philippians 4:7' St. Paul speaks of the peace of God which is greater than all understanding. Look at the magnificent call to peace in the Word of God. 'Philippians 4:4-7' states, Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Look how many Neo-Cons have made a vain attempt to convince the Magisterium of the Church, and also many Catholic Bishoprik to declare Iraq a just war. I myself truly believed in the beginning that the Iraq War was a just war. In President Bush's declaration of war on Islamic terrorism I was deceived. We must distinguish between good intentions and good actions. President Bush war in Iraq was to free the citizens of Iraq form brutal oppression of a brutal totalitarian system. There was little respect for human rights, violation of their freedom, and the suppression of their freedom. The injustice with barbaric acts was evident and one of his reasons. The weapons of mass desrtuction proved President Bush wrong. I personally believe the situation in Iraq was an Isalamic religious war. Let us never forget that Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI was written comments against the Iraq War. "Romans 12:9' states, let your love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Here the Apostle Paul gives definitive evidence love must be sincere, love must be genuine, without dissimulation. 'Romans 12:17' states, Do not repay anyone evil for evil.
'Romans 12:19' gives evidence do not take revenge, vengeance is mine saith the Lord. Look closely at the words of Christ to St. Peter when St. Peter cut the ear off the servant of the High Priest Malchus.
'Matthew 26:52' Put your sword back in its place, for all who draw the sword will perish by the sword. We must not forget that war is a dangerous path. Peace is the fruit of justice. there are many false allegations that religion is a main cause of wars, and has done little to mitigate war. Faith and reson must go together The Natural law has given man understanding with prudent and clear sight concerning of one another's brothers hearts. In 'John 14:27' Christ exhorts, peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. In 'John 16:33' Jesus states, I have told you these things, so that you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world. Let us never forget that Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI have castigated the Iraq War. The prophetic word in 'Isaiah 2:4-5' states, He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take upsword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Come, O, House of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the Lord. 'John 8:12' gives definitive evidence Jesus Christ is the light of the world. The Iraq War will determine the election. Your vote counts. God bless You.

Demagogicalism
Demagogical leadership is nothing new. Preident Bush is absolutely demagogical. Look closely at his actions in his presidency. History gives evidence of demagogicalism, even in the Biblical Texts. 'Mark 15:15' Look how Pilate released Barabbas, and had Jesus flogged, and handed him over for crucifixion. 'Acts 24:27' Look how Governor Felix of Judea wanted to grant a favor for the Jews, and left St. Paul in prison. 'Romans 13:1' gives evidence that everyone must submit themselves to governing authorities, and that there is no authority except that which is established by God. Even though there are many pagan authorities in the world.
Look at 'John 19:11' Christ himself did not contest the authority of Pilate. Our allegiance is to God, therefore in this democratic country let us always support moralistic values. Getting back to the Iraq War, the Catholic Church does not encourage exaggerated pacifism, but has initiated a just war theory. Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI have written comments that Iraq is not a just war. My personal belief is that it is an impossibility to implement pacifism and conscientious objection in dealing with godless societies. Henceforth, Unilateral Disarmament is an impossibility in dealing with godless and totalitarian socities. All negoatiations should be accompanied with Biblical principles, Christian virtues, along with clarity, and charity of mind body, and soul.God must be the pilot in all negotiations and we must be the co-pilot in the protection of the innocent. The U.S. defense budget is approximately 10.6 Billion dollars annually. Imagine if true peace in the world could be established and half of this defense spending was spent on education, medicine, etc.
