Kucinich For President
In looking at the position statements on Dennis Kucinich's Website, except for abortion, I find his other position statements on war, peace, immigration, housing, poverty, trade, industrial development and environmental policy consistent with Catholic Social Teachings. What do you any of the other readers and writers on this blog think of his views?
I Like Dennis
I like Dennis, a lot, and was disappointed -- no, angered -- that MSNBC opted to disinvite him from last night's Nevada debate.
You're right. Dennis' positions are very much aligned with Catholic Social Doctrine, as they were when he ran in '04. What a change it would be to have someone like that in the White House!
Sadly, it's not going to happen. Dennis, as passionately honest as he is, would get trounced in a general race. There's still a strong segment of the American population who buy into conservative partisan ideology without giving thought to the impact of that ideology on American society. They wouldn't go for a Dennis Kucinich.
Personally, I'm going for John Edwards. He's Dennis-light, but he's the closest to Dennis the Dems have to offer who could actually win a general election.
