Categories : Iraq war / Dean and the Pope--opposing the war on Iraq
Forum submitted by hugetim on Fri 19 Dec 2003 - 12:18 h
Dean is the only major presidential candidate who has mirrored the Pope's consistent opposition to the war from the beginning. Both Dean and the Pope accepted the attack on Afghanistan as essentially legitimate, but they opposed the Iraq war because there was no just cause.

Dean's strong and well-reasoned stance on this issue shows that he does have what it takes to handle foreign policy. The support of all the other candidates for the war on Iraq demonstrate that their foreign policy experience is not the kind this country needs!

Cry of the Poor
"How can it be that even today there are still people dying of hunger? Condemned to illiteracy? Lacking the most basic medical care? Without a roof over their heads? . . .

"Christians must learn to make their act of faith in Christ by discerning His voice in the cry for help that rises from this world of poverty."
-- Pope John Paul II
